Voted by many as one of Austin’s best steakhouses, III Forks is top tier in everything they do. If you are looking for an upscale steakhouse that is comfortable and reliable, this is the place to go. Each aspect of III Forks is on point (even down to their address at 111 Lavaca St!). What started with a passion for Prime has grown into multiple magnificent locations and they have remained a staple Austin steakhouse for many years. Dine at III Forks and you’ll quickly catch on to why this place reigns supreme.
Wine and dine in proper white tablecloth fashion. As the name suggests, the table settings at III Forks are formally set for guests to enjoy multiple courses in luxury. You’ll walk into a pristine dining hall with warm lighting and racks upon racks of wine. They have numerous tables and private rooms of different shapes, themes, and sizes that can accommodate any group gatherings. Staff at III Forks go above and beyond to create special and seamless celebrations. Each server is skilled with the menu and specials, you can trust in their recommendations. Guests will receive diligent service in an elegant environment, assuredly along with fantastic food.
III Forks uses premier ingredients to create all the classics we love, as well as some unique southern creations. There is something to be said about their plating style; it is simple yet sensational. The chefs here set aside fancy decorational tricks often found in fine dining and instead let the flavors stand for themselves. III Forks food is focused and familiar in a way that will bring comfort and joy with each bite (as food in the South should!). You can’t go wrong here with salad, surf, & turf. Their wedge salad is so crispy and delicious that I nearly didn’t have room for the rest! Don’t discount the seafood at this steakhouse. Start with something fresh like the Ahi Tuna seared sashimi or a scrumptious crab cake. We jumped at the chance to try the Chicken Fried Lobster that comes with asparagus and a mouthwatering lobster cream butter. This appetizer was such a hit we had to order more! Enjoy lobster tails served with candle lit butter warmers or order other delights like scallops with bacon jam and Chilean Seabass.
The star of the show here is, of course, steak. III Forks serves the best of the best in beef. Indulge in classic filets and prime cuts or go big with the Tomahawk Ribeye. If you’ve been wanting Wagyu, they have American and Japanese cuts as well as 75 Day Dry Aged Prime. Anything you choose will be cooked perfectly to preference. No ornate decorations on these plates, the chefs put a spotlight on the meat. To complete your plate, order a few sides for the table to share family style. You can never go wrong with Lobster Mac & Cheese and we fought over the last bites of the cream corn.
Balance these savory morsels with your favorite glass of wine or a cocktail. They have a massive collection of bottles, any red or white you could want. They made a magnificent martini and the bartenders are dependable for all of the staples. They have a few unique options for those who like drinks on the sweeter side. Gin enjoyers try the Bee’s Knees, a citrusy peach drink served with a bit of honeycomb. Perfect for date night is the Love Potion, served in a gorgeous rose gold goblet and featuring their housemade strawberry infused vodka.
Bring your favorite group and let the III Forks folks do what they do best. Masters of meat and greeting everyone with hearty hospitality. There is no question why this restaurant has long remained a fond feature of our downtown Austin scene.
